I just got a new system and installed some of my old games. Project IGI menu is just streaks and spikes of green over the menu. When I manage finally to exit from the game, I get an error message: Warning 1 block of memory have not been deallocated. From what I see in other forums, this problem is caused by my XFX 8600GT video card. I can't afford a new card but I hate to lose IGI. :cry
    Can anyone help? :major

Have you tried reinstalling the driver?

No, but I installed 23 other games the same day and every one of them except IGI works. Driver Detective says all drivers are up to date.

"Up to date" is unfortunately not always the same as "working properly" when it comes to graphics drivers. If the game is newer than the driver, they may not fully support each other, for example. Make sure you've got the game fully updated and that you're not working with a corrupt install.

Ok tried it - same result. Also re-installed the game.
The problem re age of driver vs age of game is probably the other way around.
Game is from 12/15/2000 driver is from 7/26/08. I am assuming it's going to need some programming whiz to write a patch to make it work on newer machines or with newer GPU's - like PF Launcher.exe to make Red Faction work with the GE Force 8xxx cards or like Onipatch to make ONI work with XP.
So does anyone know if something like that exists? :confused

Yeah, that is probably a large part of your problem. You can try rolling back the driver several steps, or find the official game website and see if it has a forum community, they may know.

Sadly, no. I have not played the game, and googling turned up some information, but very little specifics. Sorry. :(

Yeah, I've been looking for a couple of weeks. I did read in a forum here that the 9600GT, unlike the 8600GT, renders older games just fine. Wish I had known that before I bought this one - a lesson learned to check out the forums before I buy a new GPU.

Thanks for trying to help. :wave
