Graphics RAM Heatsink Removal..? ;/

Currently fitting all of my components into my new case, everything was going fine until I decided to fit my new GPU cooler since my last had had a huge split down the middle and was hideously loud.

Anyways, I have a HIS Radeon 9600XT 128mb Graphics Card, and the only fan I could find to fit it was the 'Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 2 (Rev.2)' with one (rather large ;p) problem.

The cooler comes with heatsinks, and is designed to wrap perfectly around the graphics card, but since my card has heatsinks already built onto the ram (seemingly the only 9600 XT in the world which has this...!) it won't fit. And as far as I can see, they're stuck on with absolutely no way at all of getting the damn heatsinks off. Meaning my new cooling thing won't fit on, and my old one is well and truely buggered.

I've looked around at numerous guides on the thing, the only one that's semi useful is http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ArcticCooling/ATISilencer4_Rev2 ; except it isn't really that useful at all, for a start the 9600 XT doesn't have RAM heatsinks and it's also a different model.

    *sigh*

Any advice would be much appreciated, I'd rather not have to go without a computer purely because I don't have gfx card cooling *cries*

    Thanks xxx

Woop! Managed to fix it by using a hairdryer :D

One final question, trying to hook up my firewire card to the front port, but all of the wires coming from the front either say USB, Audio or 1394.

Now, knowing me I'll be wrong, but I'm going to have to assume that the 1394 thing is the Firewire cable, but it's arranged in the same was as the other cables (for example the USB one) as if it were to be placed directly onto the motherboard, not attached to a Firewire card via a cable (which, incidently seems to go firewire -> firewire)

Any suggestions on this? Can you get convertors? Is 1394 nothing to do with Firewire? A quick search on google would imply that it is indeed Firewire though.
