Just got back from attending the Grey Cup Championship game in Vancouver. Just to bring people up to speed, it's the Canadian version of the SuperBowl, only bigger.:p :p ....ok, the field's bigger.;) The drive down there takes about 10 hrs and includes five significant mountain passes. This trip took 13hrs heavy snow for a good portion. My wife and I took separate cars, I was returning my son's car, and she brought our return car. She doesn't like winter driving. I watched her spin out twice in my rearview mirror. FREAKY!!! She managed to keep it on the road both times. We had radio contact, and she wasn't too shook up about it. We passed two semi's in ditches, a car on it's roof, various vehicles in the ditch, semi's chaining up in the middle of the road because they couldn't move, and my wife got clipped by another car as she was pulling off the road for a break. No damage luckily. My drive was uneventful. Any way, back to the football game. The BC Lions were not in the game, being they were eliminated the week prior, so we had to cheer for the Edmonton Eskimos over the Montreal Alouettes. The game went into overtime. Overtime in the CFL, you get the ball on your opponents 35yd line. You score, or lose the ball on downs, then the opponent gets to try. The Eskies won on the second set of overtime downs. Pretty exciting. You had to be there. I should mention, Black-eyed Peas was the half-time show (who cares) and all the cheerleaders from all the teams in the league were there. http://www.cfl.ca/

Sounds like the drive was a lot more exciting than the game. ;)

Hehe, actually did get exciting in the second half and it went inti overtime where we lost. BC should have been in there though. Maybe then the CFL will get a replay option going. Man, they were 11-0 on the regular season.

The TV ratings were down 21% from last year. I wonder why? I thought the CFL's popularity was on the rise again. Strange.

BEP didn't need to be there.

Hehe, besides that one questionable number. Why do we need a US band? We have plenty of good ones here and this is a Canadian event, though I cast no aspersions on American music. It just doesn't make sense to me.

The sound was bad for the halftime show and I don't care for BEP at all. On top of that we couldn't see the jumbotron from our seats so I didn't even get to see Fergie do her humpa-humpa or whatever it was.:(

I caught the last 10 minutes of the game...I`d forgotten all about it. I always liked the CFL...it`s a bit different than the NFL obviously. The only thing I don`t care for is the 3-down thing. On the other hand, though scoring doesn`t seem to be much of an issue. As far as the half-time festivities...I don`t watch them when I GO to a game so naturally I don`t watch them at home either. (I`da liked to see that humpa-humpa thing tho she`s fun to watch)
