Grey Desktop

Hi

Hope you can hope as I dont want to reinstall windows just so I can see my wallpaper. I uninstalled FEAR and my desktop has gone grey like there is no wallpaper, all the icons are ok. If I change the background it stays grey. When i shutdown the grey disappears and the wallpaper flashes up just before it shutsdown, like it is sitting behind the grey background. Any ideas how to resolve this? I have tried restarting - no joy. restored the pc at an earlier time through system restore - no joy. Unfortunatly I dont have FEAR anymore to reinstall and uninstall to see if that fixes the problem. Any ideas please.

 

Update:

The problem is the colour is sitting in front of the wallpaper and not behind it, like it should. in the desktop properties I can change the colour of the desktop and it changes to that colour around a centred picture in the preview. How can I bring the wallpaper to the front?

 

I have solved the problem. I removed all references to FEAR in the registry and rebooted. The uninstallation must of failed at some point I guess.
