this might seem completely outta left-field but were you ever on John Edward's show Crossing Over? Was watching it today and saw somebody in the audience that was a spitting image of you (at least that pic you posted), glasses, mustache, and everything... Just wanted to know if there was a Geek siting on TV or not... =]

Using "legitimate" and "psychic medium" in the same sentence is somewhat questionable, but hey, that's entertainment for some folks. But entertainment is all it is. Not my cup of tea.

 

I don't find it entertaining knowing there is a lot of people out there sad over the death of someone they love, and then someone takes advantage of it for fame or fortune.

I do believe some people may have a gift, but not in the extent of these T.V. rip-off artist. They seem to have so much trouble that they should be watching for.

 

i think you guys are misinformed when it comes to people like John Edwards and Silvia Browne... please tune in to one of his shows and tell me how John Edwards is taking advantage of anyone by linking them with their passed loves ones... yes many psychics are scam artists but they shouldn't be allowed to defame or slander valid people... if you dont think certain psychic mediums are legitamate just ask the FBI why they've consulted with Sylvia Browne in the past to help solve missing persons cases or please tell me how she can sit down with people and tell them the most intimate details of their life, things that only have significance in the context of their individual lives, or how she can inform a completely stranger of his/her internal illnesses... i cannot phathom how any of this could be the product of a scam or deception, nor imagine how John Edwards or Sylvia Browne could be world reknown for their work and best selling authors if they were frauds... why hasn't anyone disproven what they specifically do?

 

if you had a gift of that nature, would you be reserved and sit back or would you try to reach as many people as possible? i dont see anything wrong with profitting from helping others, especially not in this context...

 

Would I even recognize it as a gift or just good insight. Even batting ten out of ten, I would never assume I have the gift.

 

well having read both the biographies of John Edward and Sylvia Browne, initially it was something that scared them and something they tried to resist/fight... But as they were exposed to it more and as they matured they learned to channel their ability and use it to a beneficial way, namely use it to help people grieve and cope with their losses...

John Edwards show runs @ 2 (EST) on the UPN channel and Sylvia Browne frequently appears on Larry King Live and Montel Williams in case anyone's interested...

James Randi will give Sylvia $1,000,000.00 if she can prove her abilities and she agreed to do so on the Larry King show on Sept. 3, 2001. She has failed to even try. Also, her prediction that Saddam Hussein would be found dead in 2003 seems to be a little off the mark. I've watched it several times, I reluctantly admit. It seems curious to me that everyone is happy in the afterlife. Out of he thousands of ghosts that he's seen, odds are he should have encountered at least one that's unhappy because he's burning in Hell or being reincarnated as a baby harp seal on Norwegian fur clubbing day, or something like that.

I'm sorry Midget. All of these people sound good until you llook at something besides their own propaganda. FBI may have "worked with her", but how many times, and what was the percentage of her success rate? And when did they stop????

U.S. military also had a psy-ops program going for some years, and one of it's veterans is frequently on Art Bell & Coast To Coast. And so far every dire prediction he's made has come and gone without happening. And people still listen to him. And Uncle Sugar got tired of no results and disbanded the program.

They're all real impressive, just like the Wisard Of Oz... until you see the little man behind the curtain pulling levers.

Heck, even some of MY predictions come true, and I'm not faintly psychic, or I'd have never married my ex-wife.

 

Yep, it's all to do with the way the questions are structured, which seem to form a credible pattern. Nothing extra-sensory about it.

However, I hasten to add, I'm not diss'ing Psi. phenomena, just those making a show and a lot of money out of it.

i lost a daughter to a long, slow, progressively debilitating disease. these people are scum. yes i believe that there are stranger things on earth then we can imagine. no i do not believe that people who can 'see', would be able to conduct a TV series. everyone wonders about the 'afterlife'. to those that have lost a loved one questions always linger. i have caught snippets of these farces in passing. i notice that they all speak of 'acceptance'. the stages of grief? disbelief, bargaining, guilt, anger, numbness, acceptance. all of those people need a good counselor, not a psychic! aloha
