GTA San Andreas

Hi there, im just about to purchase either a x700 or a Gforce6600.
Just wondering which is the better card for this game and/or in general.

My specs are as follows:
Sempron2600+ (1.833Mhz) Socket A
512MB ElixirRAM
80gig HD
ASrock K7VT4APro FSB 333Mhz.

 

i would recommend the 6600gt. (i know its not one in the list)..

from the list go with the 6600.

also be sure whether you motherboard has PCI-Express or AGP before you buy.

i think x700 is a twin of 6600 GT so its stronger than the regular 6600. well they are all similar but i know that 6600GT is soooooooo much stronger than a regular 6600. again, i would get the high end editions of any of them. X700 pro or 6600GT.

 

I'm not sure about San Andreas, but these benchmarks should give you an idea of where the X700 performs versus the 6600:

It seems that the 6600 is a good amount better than the X700 Pro/XT so, personally, that's the one I would go for.

 

If you enjoy gaming, the minimum should be a 6600GT.

Even the new 6600 with DDR2 is slow comared to it and not really suitable for games.
