Hello all. I was recently looking at an article on nvidia.com that stated the new Beta nvidia drivers 180.84 are supposed to help out with some performance issues with the new Grand Theft Auto 4 over the previous release. So, naturally I had to use the benchmarking tool to check it out.

    Here are the results.

As you can see, there is roughly a 9 FPS difference between the two, which is pretty good for BETA drivers. I only ran these benchmarks once and made sure that that each of the control panel settings were exactly the same for both drivers.

I ran it on a OC'd Core 2 Quad (3.2Ghz, GO Stepping, 65nm), EVGA 780i board with 2 gigs of OCZ 1066 DDR2 (5-5-5-18 1T), 2 NVIDIA GeForce 9800GTX+'s SLi'd (stock fan speed set to 80%) Raptor 74Gb Sata HDD, Enermax Noisetaker II 600w on a stripped and modified performance XP OS.

so would this increase in FPS go for all games? or just GTA4?

I'm pretty sure just on GTA4. These were drivers specifically tweaked for that game. However, I have not tested them on any other game, so possibly..?
