Installation of software for Linksys wireless adapter WUSB54GC resulted in unwanted "login screen" for Windows XP. Internet searches discovered similar results traced back to a "gtgina.dll" file installed. Would like to go back to non-login opening screen. Wireless adapter removed, but problem still remains. Doesn't appear as a "virus", but certainly a nuisance.

Also, screensavers don't seem to work at all!

Started downloading of recommended malware software on Saturday 3/22/08. Completed Monday 3/24/08, but noticed that "combofix.exe" was no longer on the list, and malwarebytes was added. Clock didn't reset back to 12-hour format.

Attaching logs from malwarebytes, mgtools, and combofix.

Well hello, mgrega, welcome to Major Geeks.

This is just a 'getting to know you' section and your pretty heavy question really belongs in the software thread.

I don't think malware is involved as quite a few manufacturers replace msgina.dll with a version of their own. Netgear use mrvgina.dll.

Major geeks proceedures for this can be found at

If this doesn't help post again in the software forum.
