I have been experiencing hardfreezes, when playing games for the last 7 months. Tried everything, even brought whole PC to a place where i custom made it, they cleaned some dust from inside my GTx 260, charged me a fortune, and sent it back.

    Problem remained.

Hard freezes happen in different circumstances. It mostly happens on games that require a lot of resources, but sometimes, even when i play a game released in 2002 i get Hard frozen.

I checked my RAM, HDD, and VGA for problems, but everything was squeaky clean of errors. The only thing that dodged my radar was PSU.

I run my entire set up:
    GTX 260 1792mb
    Intel Core Quad CPU Q9400 2.66GHz (4CPU's)
    Asus P5P43TD - motherboard

on a 460W PSU, whose warranty ended months before the incidents started happening.

What puts me on a dime here, is that the tech guys came up with nothing, though they arent the most reliable bunch (i had to bring my last PC for them to check it out - they came up with nothing - 2 days latter i brought it again, and then they found VGA related problem).

I really don't want to bring it back there again, possibly for no reason, cause there's only a chance they can be arsed to check it fully, and i don't own a car, to do the hauling.

This could be a couple of things, the GPU is overheating under heavy load or the PSU is not delivering enough power (unlikely but possible)

If you download TechPowerUp GPU-Z v0.5.4 and run it then click the middle tab for the "sensors" it will tell you if it is overheating.

Hmm, that's not an old machine.

You're 460W is borderline at best and if it's a cheap PSU then losing %10 to %20 degradation per year is not uncommon. Use OCCT to stress test your machine and which will record some 12 different graphs until it shuts down.

    Thank you all for replying.
I have MSI Afterburner running at all times, temps stay normal (83 at full load).

I know all there is to know about temps and fans, but my knowlege conserning wats and railings, borders at 0. :)

Start with newegg's PSU Calculator. Here's my take at guessing your machine needs. As you can see, you're right at the edge like I said above. This Rosewill 630W @ +12V 50A rail would be my choice for $60. What does OCCT say as far as power is concerned. 560W

The link is there,;) click on Rosewill. $125?:eek That's way overkill for you but won't be bad at all either. Depends how much you're willing to pay. A medium one would be like the Corsair CMPSU-TX650W comes in at $95, $80 after MIR.

I don't know Xilence from a hole in the ground, the specs are minimum but way better than you currently have. Let us know what happens and make sure that the specs include what you need as far as connectors go.

I REALLY don't want taking any risks.

    CORSAIR PSU CXV2 600W 12CM ATX12V2.3 80+

This is as far as i can go off budget to guarantee smooth transition. Also, has the needed, + alternative pins.

    HELP!

Bought and installed Corsair CXv2 600W

Hooked up everything (i think, cause it started), and everything is in yellow!

Monitor works as supposed, but everything is yellow. Has yelowish shader i guess. If default is white and slightly blueish, then now its YELLOW on default.

    Any idea whats the problem?

    EDIT:

This problem is purely desktop based. When i turn my monitor off, and back on, the logo is Normal White color set, but when desktop apprears (or even DOS, Bios ect.) its yellow.

Everything is alright now. Found out that it was due to not plugging monitor in accordingly.
