GTX 295 whining!

I have recently bought a GTX 295, everytime i put it under load, (F@H) it emmits a high pitched whine.

It cannot be the fan, as it is water cooled, so what else could be making that noise?!

Specs:

Athlon II Quad @3.7
M4A78-E
GTX295
Corsair TX650.

Please help guys, it's driving me mad. All temps are fine, idle 35, load 52.

When i fold on both the gpu cores, the pc blue screens...

 

Could it be your power? AFAIK , the GTX295 needs 46A combined and 680W and you've got 52A on one rail and 650W, That's really really tight! Add watercooling and RAM and HDD's plus whatever else and you've blown it. The whining may have come from your PSU trying to supply the power.

 

And i had a pretty huge OC on it.

Perfect excuse to try out the new AX series of corsairs PSU's!

 

Hehe, I'd take that 650 but the shipping would be horrendous.:eek I could use it to add my GTX260 back in the mix as I don't want to buy one of these 1000W+ PSU's. Hey, congrats on the W/C'd GTX295 and I hope you got a good price on it!:highfive

 

I got a ******* mint price on it, £140 with the block fitted.

Now the pc is BSOD'ing every 5 mins, on idle. Think i've blown the PSU. :-o

 

Now the pc won't even get into windows.

 

You can at least console yourself that the PSU has a 5 year Warranty. I hope it didn't take anything else out!:eek I'm sure you'll be installing the old card back in post haste.

 

This will be the second time i've returned it.

I'll get it returned tomorrow.

I doubt it has, with it being corsair.

 

BTW, is the card the BFG one with factory installed W/C?

 

Nope, the EVGA Co-op with custom EK block.

 

GTX 295 still whining.

Me again, and the card is still whining when folding, i upgraded to a tx 850 from corsair, so power is no issue.

What on earth is making the noise?
