GW-BASIC Conpiler

    I would like to know were to get a GW BASIC compiler. I am learning VB6, i thout that there would have been coding(like gw,java). Which do you think is better gw(basic), java or VB6...?

    My uncle uses this forum ALL the time:D

    Isn't GW Basic interpreted and not compiled ? Personally out of that list i'd say vb6 is the best but it depends on what you want it for.

    What do you mean by 'I thought there would be codig' there is coding in vb6 but as the name suggests its a 'visual' language. you can design forms and frontends in a visual environment. You still need to write the code for what happens with these objects.

    If you have only just started learning vb6 i'd suggest you skip it and move straight to .net. You can get a free visual basic express IDE from microsoft.

    Its pretty similair to Visual Studio 2005 but just doesn't include some of the templates and doesn't support plugins which as a beginner you wouldn't need anyway. Kodo has some great links for some learning videos which I will attempt to find in a minute.
