GWAR is one of my all time favorites! I first saw them in '90 at City Gardens in NJ, and have seen them almost every time they've come around since. I've seen them at least 40 times in Philly.

I actually missed them in October because the played on Halloween (I've got a kid now, so my Halloweens are booked). A freind of mine went and said it was great.

I saw them a few months back though. Sucks that GWAR woman is out. She does her own touring thing now though, I believe.

I highly reccommend seeing them live if you are a fan of heavy music. Their show is awesome! Their music is great too, and it always amazes me how well they sound despite the intense stage show.

If you like GWAR, check out X-COPS. It is one of many GWAR side projects. The first time I heard X-COPS was back in early '90s at a GWAR show in Philly. X-COPs opened for GWAR, and by about the second song, I realized IT WAS GWAR! They actually opened for themselves! They did a full set as one band, then came out and did another full set as GWAR! How freakin cool is that.

Also check out Dave Brockie Experience. Not quite as heavy as GWAR but just as funny! (Dave Brockie is the singer from GWAR).

I've collected a TON of GWAR memoriabillia as well as live videos.

    Cool pics! Thanks.

1990 was about the last time they did it too.

They are doing a ton of shows, just came from Philly and think they are heading back that way, then west, then to the south ending up in S Carolina in December sometime, should be playing by you unless you missed it. The new album is pretty sweet.

Yeah, I need to check that out. My faves are America Must Be Destroyed and This Toilet Earth, some of their most aggressive stuff. "Crack in the Egg" is one of their best show openers.

Yup, they did crack in the egg and ham on the bone, 2 of my favorites. Didnt do Sadaam a Go go, but with the new album it makes sense they had to drop a couple songs. I miss them playing im in love with a dead dog too.

Thats right, Ham on the Bone is the one I was thinking of that is the opener, not Crack in the Egg.

Pookie! Yeah that was great too! I miss Slaughterama!

Gwar puts on one of the best shows by far! To bad I have only been able to see one. Just missed them in Vegas I think back around the begining of October.

They still spew stuff out into the audience?
Still have my t-shirt all covered in crap!

Yes, they spew as much blood and other fake bodily fluids as ever.

Sweet! That is what lacks in todays concerts--theatrics and a bunch of unidentified filth (And it sure helps to keep you from sweating so bad up near the front or at least thinking that you are:)

Are you from the city or from one of the suburbs? I grew up in Springfield. Do you know where that is?

Bucks County, actually. About 20 minutes North of Philly.

Springfield, thats South, right? Or maybe just West of Philly? I bought a car from Springfield once.

I can do Alice Cooper, but Gwar ehh, i'd have to say though i'd love to see them in concert just for the show.

Yep, West of Philly. Springfield is in Delaware County. I lived right around the corner from the Golden Mile where you probably bought your car. A few of the dealerships have closed down in the last 10 years or so though. I've been in Chicago for the last 12 years.
