GZ File

    What is a GZ file and how do you read them ? thanx

    gz (and .z) files are compressed using GNU gzip. You need to use
    gunzip to unpack the file.

    As far as reading the file either right click on the file and select "Open With" or go to Start >> Control Panel >> Folder Options

    Select the "File Types" tab, click on "New", type in the file extension, click on OK. Click on the file extension now in the list of extensions, click on "Change", select a program from the list and click OK.

    Thanx for your so prompt response. I will try that. The file is 45 mb. Nice to know there are guru's around to help out. Happy New Year
