i have an h type file that i can't delete. it has a name that is very many characters long sort of like someone held down too many keys on the keyboard. i want to delete it but i can't seem to delete it, copy it to disk, email it to my brother the computer geek or anything else. it comes up as a word pad document with no information in it.

I think files with an "h" extension are C++ header files. Don't really know enough about the language to give any further help, except to recommend that you re-post your question in the programming forum, if you don't get your answer here. Good luck.

yturieow is right as far as I know. Files that have an extension of .h are C++ class files. They are used or "called" by the main program. They support functions such as input/output. If you're having problems deleting it, there are programs that are designed specifically for that. There are also other ways to delete a stubborn file should the programs not work.

make a new directory called DELTEST. copy the file to that folder.
open up a command prompt and then type
    cd\
    hit enter
    then type
    RMDIR /S DELTEST
    hit enter

now look for the folder and file.
