A hacker may have had access to a file containing approximately 40 million credit card numbers. It was announced Friday by Mastercard International and that the security breach was traced back to CardSystems Solutions Inc. of Atlanta.

Now, who of you got their card already blocked for Security reasons ?

I pay cash as well, in the form of debit :p

Tell ya what though, nothing beats a large amount of high limit platinum cards with little to no balance to skyrocket your credit to awesomeness :)

Used to have bad credit, now I have a 722 credit score :) Made buying a new house with no proof of income easy. People trust ya for some reason :p

Same here for most things. Credit cards are necessary for online purchases, and are convenient for large purchases, but I use mine maybe 3 oe 4 times a month, and pay it off in full each month. Never a problem identifying which purchases are "mine", as it's always a very short list.

One would assume they've been encrypting their data, the "hackers" just found a way to decrypt it due to a flaw in their systems. I imagine someone was doing the r00t dance that night ;)

So, you are talking about "online purchases" only, or so ?

Primarily. I sent my Dad some Fanny May chocolates from Chicago (where we're from; I'm now in MS, he's now in CA) for Father's Day, which required credit card use. Tha's about it for the last month. I bought new Klipsch Promedia speakers to replace old ones that got fried by lightning, and wrote a check for those. Gas, groceries, etc. are always cash.
