Hacktool.Rootkit problem

A few days ago, a web page I thought I could trust asked me if I wanted to install software, and I clicked yes without thinking...nothing out of the ordinary happened then, but later when I tried to shut down my computer, the screen went white and the computer crashed. After I rebooted, Norton Internet Security detected (and claimed to have vanquished) Hacktool.Rootkit, Trojan.Blusod, Joke.Blusod, Adware.CWSIEFeats, and Trojan.Dropper. Also, my desktop background picture had been replaced with a plain blue one and in the Control Panel's Display box my screensaver and desktop tabs were gone. I put back the tabs and fixed the desktop background. But every time I rebooted, Norton kept finding Hacktool.Rootkit (each time it would claim that it either blocked it or “fully removed” it). I used Sysclean and Unhackme, but they did not seem to help. Then I came to MajorGeeks.com, followed all the READ & RUN ME FIRST instructions. Spybot S&D removed PremiumSearch, and after that, whenever I rebooted, Norton did not detect any Hacktool.Rootkit. So everything seems fine, but from what I've read about Hacktool.Rootkit, I would love to know if my computer is actually clean or if it still needs work.
