Hal Device Initialization Failure

So I want to play this game Mystery Case Files 8 Escape from Ravenhearst (it is an older game from 2011) and I've installed it but when I click on it to play I get this error message:

HAL Device Initialization Failure
Your current graphics device does not support the minimum requirements of this game.

System Requirements for the game:
OS: Windows XP/Vista/Win7
CPU: 1.8GHz
RAM: 1GB (1024MB )
Display Memory (graphics device): 128MB
DirectX: 9.0
Hard Drive: 1.43 GB

My specs are:
OS: Win 10 pro 64bit
CPU: AMD a10-6790K Graphics 4GHz
Ram: 8GB
Under display adapter I have Radeon HD 8670D
Total Available graphics Mem 4224MB, Dedicated Vid Mem 768MB

specs from previous game (mystery case files 7 from 2010)
System Requirements:
OS: Windows XP/Vista
CPU: 2 GHz
RAM: 1024 MB
DirectX: 9.0
Hard Drive: 778 MB
and that worked. Managed to play it through without any problems.

Am I wrong thinking this game should work for me?
It's not the end of the world if I can't play this game, I just want to know why or whats missing for the game to work. If there is a quick fix, nothing huge. If theres any specs that I forgot or left out just ask.
Also not sure if this is software or hardware. I put it in software since the error happens when wanting to play a game.
