I have just installed a new motherboard and cpu and Im trying to boot Windows for the 1st time off an old drive. However, it says that Hal.dll is missing or corrupted so Windows won't boot up at all. How can I reinstall this file again? I went to the System Recovery but it asked me for the Administrator Password. I dont remember even making a password for anything! Can anyone help please?

This isn't good. All those links tell me to reinstall XP from the disk. I dont have an XP disk. :( What else can I do? I dont have a disk and I can't access the recovery console due to the password issue.
