    Is Tim about, I'm still getting memory could NOT be written... error code blah, blah, blah.
    I've ran regcure, still boots up with error code.
    I've ran registry easy, still boots up with error code.
    I've ran unibluesuite, still boots up with error code.
    I'm getting more & more frustrated. :cry
    I'm wondering if theres a mistyped error with BOOT.INI file...
    Can you tell me (verbatem) the CORRECT varible's for this little bugga'.
    On the DOS start-up opt's it looks quite different to what it used to before.

    This is what i'm running at the mo. rolleyes

    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP
    Professional" /fastdetect

    O.k. :)

    I've found SP2, it has "HAL.dl" (notice the missing "L") but the size of it is nearly two third's of what I'm using at the mo (I'm runnung SP3).
    OLD(SP2) = [size on disk 52KB]
    CURRENT = [size on disk 132KB]

    I've just been to Windows site to look for a DL but all I can find is comment's.
    (getting teidious now)
    Is there anywhere I can obtain the driver for SP3? (Danger free) :(
    P.s. I'm up 4 a while still. ;)

    Cheer's fellow geek. I'm still learning to negate this site, slowly but surely.
    The link you sent me in the email was a great help only I couldn't donate for the tree growth... (I'm somewhat gutted that, I dont own any credit card's).
    The Dll size is tiny compared to the one already in my SYS32 folder, does this matter?

    Couple of free spaces in the boot.ini, WINDOW S, Micro soft. After reading previous threads seems quite a few annoying problems if all on the same PC. If you have a back up or an install disk that came with the PC, or was purchased to install Windows on the PC, it might be less aggravation to reinstall the operating system. If there are files you want to save you will need an external source (HDD, CD, DVD) or slave drive to save them on, make sure the BIOS is set to boot from optical drive first, and run a live/rescue CD to get them copied to an external before the wipe. Just a thought, but if your registry and or system files have been compromised and an adequate back up is not available...
