half life 2 problem

i get a "128mb required" error when i try playing the game, only problems is my specs are practically more then enough(except maybe graphics card which would still be more than enuf to play THIS game)

4 gbs ram
128 dedicated vid mem
geforce 7100 card
around 1800 mb shared mem
windows vista 64(i think its the source of prob)

as you can see specs are nice enuf..but i get error still,any patch or fix for this??

Please help me..heard this game was ridiculously insane.

 

ahh bummer, anyway i can lessen the useage of some vista functions?

and i dont think i wanna mess with the insides of a prebuilt computer, they are already fit all nice and snug..=/, kinda got stuffed last time i tried.

so would an overclock be possible on a prebuilt without losin to much quality? i still want this computer to last like 6 years..

Are you using Steam, or did you get it in a store? Did you update the game? I have played HL2 on a computer much less endowed than yours and it worked great. Remember that HL2 is an older game, it still looks great though.

If you get Steam you can use your Account Key to register that copy of the game. Then it will update the game for you.

 

okay got ya, just random, HL 2 Episode 1 worked right out the box
