half life Steam problem

I cant connect to steam platform from the last 2 days. Any1 play counter stikre here? pls give me a solution. i tried 1 that he ask me to delele the platform gcf file and try to download it again but it stil dont work..

 

when all else fails with steam...Do what the crappy program was made to make u do...

i'm a long time CS player (4 1/2 years), and aside from my friends list malfunctioning and my favorites tab disappearing... my STEAM suddenly (after one of the recent updates) gives me intermittent ingame freezes... there's a whole bunch of people over at their forums (www.steampowerer.com) bitching about it and of course absolutely no response...

 

Correct. Uninstall, re-install... unfortunatley the only way to go. Deleting your profile file will probably just open up a new problem, re-installing is much easier in that case.

If you still have problems, it might be a rogue registry key which we can help you sort out.

 

yea guss i have to reinstall this piece of crap. Yeah i agree with u all Won is much better then steam.

 

There were some other suggestions at the Steam Website. One guy's system clock was off by a year or something and that's what the problem was.

I had the same problem, but the system clock thing didn't fix mine. Steam downloaded an update and that's when I stopped having that problem. I don't play Counter-Strike, though... I play Team Fortress Classic. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

yeah i could not use my steam today until it updated and i went to play and it was so jeky after that i just gave up. i will uninstall and reinstall. i am p"$%ed off.

 

steam has nothing to do with lag on your system on or the server you played it...

 

i used steam just before this update and there was nothing wrong all was ok . after the update steam was jerky as hell . i have nothing running in the backround as well.

so i uninstalled steam and reinstalled steam did the update again and lone behold all was great once again.
