half life2 and doom3 what you think

has anyone seen the beta of doom3 and the graphics of half life 2 . they are both awesome but i cannt wait to get hold of half life 2. i am busy finishing halflife 1 and that is also great !!!

 

gprahics are great, but means tie for another upgrade.....

 

Depends, the minimum specs (last i saw them anyway) were lower than you may expect! Though I'm not holding my breath, Ive got a fairly decent setup (2.2GHz Athlon XP, 512MB DDR333 ram, GF4 Ti 4200 running at 4600 speeds)

 

Well if Doom 3 runs like it does now on my 1.7 Celeron(I didnt have money at the time ) then I will need to, that small cache is probably killing me though

 

I am playing the Doom III beta 2 version I get to a door that is locked and I need a code anyone no what that code is?

 

I didn't know there was a beta... but I'm gonna have the game on tuesday

 

there isn't a beta, he is playing a leaked version that ID never intended to have anyone play. It is incomplete, there are problems, and it is buggy. Wait until Tuesday man!!! And BTW everyone, how do you think my machine will fair against the wonderous Doom3? Peace.

I must say that Half-life 2 is much better than Doom 3. I have tried both and prefer Half-life 2. How might you ask I have tried Half-life, my local lan center has the Source engine for Counter-Strike Beta and it is AWSOME. Words cannot describe the sheer beauty and level of detail Valve has put into this game. They even have the ringing in your ears from a flash-bang grenade in there. Also, the visual effects on the flash-bang are Spectacular. The coolest thing though, is while I was playing, I planted the bomb, and ran out of an archway on dust, and as soon as that thing blew up, barrels and cans and bottles and all sorts of debris flew out of the archway and hit the wall.
