halo clans

im newer to halo and am looking for a clan (to help get better and tips and whatnot).....i have no clue where to start and when ever i get asking around, they all act like im the plauge. anyone here wanna let me tag along?

 

Some clan folk can be real jerks as are many private little clubs, alot of them take way too much satisfaction in knowing more than the 'newbs'

Best place to start is on clan public servers,play them get known and get chatting with some of clan members playing on there,also learn the game and GET GOOD if your TK'in all the time and finishing at the bottom of the scoreboard you wont get in any clan

 

im usually in the middle of the group in ratings, not a pushover, im still new (and dont mod cheats (dont know how for one))
ive been really surprised at the holier than thou crap its annoying

thats why i like majorgeeks, those who are well informed dont treat you like your the scum of the earth

 

What country you from ,as most MG members are American if you live outside the States you cant really use the servers due to the latency,I'v had some O.K games on some of the East coast US servers pinging at around 90 but your at a real disadvantage,usually I only use servers that ping around 50

No problem ping is the latency between your computer and the server you connect to measured in milliseconds,the lower the better,the speed of your broadband is important but more important is your distance from the server,the further away you get the more relays the signal has to go through,the slower the connection

If the server Pings at 50 for example everything you see in the game is running 0.050 seconds behind where everything actually is which doesnt really cause a problem in First person shooter combat,any higher a ping of 100, 0.1 of a second or 100 milliseconds and above and the player your aiming for could be 1-2 body lengths ahead of where he actually is depending on how fast he is running and although it looks like your hitting him as blood spray is appearing your not,this is also often described as 'Lag'

i wanted to say that i got accused of aimboting for the first time! (and no i wasnt, dont even know how to do that if i wanted to) so with that said anyone who has a clan im looking for one!

 

What servers do you play on? I'm considering trying online with Halo, but haven't found anyone to play.

 

whatever has the lowest ping i can find that has what i want.....now that i know about that
other than that im not to picky
some it feels like its a cheat fest when you go in (and they are usually always the same server, i leave those pretty quick when i realize i went there not looking at the server.

went and checked and right now there is 2343 players in 790 servers

yeah you kinda just gotta play thru that crap, its annoying, but dont just try to stick it out in one server. search around and youll find one with players on your level.....(our level).... and you will get a decent game outta it.

ever tried Halo custom edition?
it doesnt have nearly as many players
alot easier to find one to mess around in with a few people. and alot of wild maps people can make, more than the six or so in regular multi halo.
yayap.com has the download....tho i dont know if they have the update....halomaps.org is a little more informative.

 

did i mention halo CE is free!?!
