Halo-fatal Error

OK WHEN I WANT TO START HALO ON MY COMPUTER I GET A SCREEN THAT SAYS:



HALO - FATAL ERROR

PROBLEM: A PROBLEM OCCURED INITIALIZING DIRECTDRAW. HARDWARE ACCELERATION MAYBE DISABLED, PLEASE RUN DXDIAG

MACHINE INFO 2200MHz, 896 MB


PLEASE HELP ME WHAT CAN I DO??? I ALREADY RAN DXDIAG AND IT'S NOT DISABLED:cry

 

Several things come to mind, first is the video card. Are you sure you're system specs are up to Halo's? The second thing is what Rev. of Direct X are you at?

I've been burned by the video specs more times than I care to count. Just because the Direct X is up to date doesn't mean the the video card is. What CPU and video card are you using?

 

i really don't know what you mean i don't think I have a video card I haven't really mod my computer

 

You either have a video card or intergrated video on your mother board. If this is the first Halo and not Halo 2 it doesn't require to much graphics. I would say you just need to update your DirectX http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/AboutGFW/Pages/DirectX10.aspx

Go to Start - Control Panel and click on Display, then click on the settings tab at the top and tell us what it says under Display.
For example mine says
"Plug and Play Monitor on Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller"

 

i just updated it right now and it didn't solve I'm just going to give up and get a new computer for christmas
