I've been playing Halo on a GeForce 5200FX, wich sucked bigtime cos the card was slow as hell.
A month ago I bought a RADEON 98000PRO, so I could play games at nice 1600*1200 settings or 640*480 x6 antialiasing(try it in Painkiller  , goodlooking as hell).

My problem is that when I play Halo it works worse than my GeForce!! I have like 10 fps @ 1024*768.. wtf!

    Anyone know what's wrong?

I have the SAME problem with the SAME 3d card; patched game and all; very depressing :(

You guys both used drivercleaner to clean out all the leftover nvidia crap?

the nvidia registry entries, dlls that weren't deleted etc etc.

in short: did you completely remove the Nvidia Forceware drivers ?

Here's a link to driver cleaner, clean out all the nvidia stuff, then reinstall the ATI drivers.

EDIT: Oh, and what's the rest of your systems specs btw?

I've seen this issue a number of places. Only thing I saw everywhere was to make sure FSAA was disabled.

You also might try the "optimized" drivers from Omegacorner.com, but I make no guarantee about their quality or anything.

    System specs:
    AMD 2500+ barton
    1024 MB ram DDR 400mhz
    120gb SATA

    (antialiasing off)

I think I could have some leftovers from Nvidia, I'll try to remove'em with that prog.

    Thanks for the replys!

WHat's your motherboard? Make sure you have the latest drivers for it (via 4-in-1s/Hyperion or Nforce (forceware i think?)) And did you try reinstalling the ATI drivers after you removed the nvidia stuff?

Ansitropic filtering should be set to off, too.
