Handspring Treo 600 and Digital Fugifilm Finepix 4900Zoom

Hi,

I just recently purchased these two pieces of equipment. For some reseon that I do know my computer does not recognize my equipment. The Treo seems to work sometimes. I think it has to do with the fact that my USB hardware is version 1.0. I have a Compaq Presario 5600i. The serial # is 9909CF5ZE173. If it is that I need a 2.0 can I update and would you know what it is that I can purchase and where? My USB jumpdrive does not work either.

I am eventually purchasing a new PC but just purchased a new home and am looking for a quick fix. My wife does not want me to spend money on a new PC for this one is 3.5 years old and I spent $2900.00 on this one.

usb 2 devices are backward compatible with 1.1

what os are you using? does any usb device work? have you installed the latest chipset drivers?

have you installed the finepix usb driver

I have windows 98. Yes my external CD writer works fine. I have installed both the drivers from both pieces of equipment. What is the "latest chipset drivers?"

My Handspring Treo 600 seems to work 1 time if I reboot my computer. Hotsynching that is.

ok it seems that you have to manually set the port for hotsynching this is why it will work on a reboot as it always auto resets this is explained better here

I just purchased a Belkin USB 2-port PCI card and installed it. It fixed everything. I don't know why but it did.
