hanging application error in ie

Hey I need some help from you weenies out there. I've got a SERIOUS issue with my computer, keep getting a hanging application error on IE. Some hyperlinks work,some don't and completely freeze up the screen. Have done an anti-virus check, defrag, chkdsk, disk clean, you name it. Also emailed Dell support this morning. Anything else I can do other than smash it with a hammer?

 

Has she done any spyware checks? What version of IE? what O/S? We have this forum here so she can post her problems here us geeks dont want to travel to differnet forums all day helping people thats why we hang here so they can come here when they need help.
