Sounds like an ear infection - if so, you need antibiotics to clear it Rikky. Get yerself down the docs :)

Yeh I'm an expert at ear infections had a mastoidectamy when I was 10,they take a load of infected bone out of one ear which left me with less than 40% hearing in one ear,its always getting infected, cant put my head under water ect.ect, the other one is my workhorse and thats the one that got infected only the second time it has but its pretty scary cause now I cant really hear anything

Usaul cure is a course of amoxycillin and otosporin drops,if it aint cleared up tomorrow I'll go to the walk in centre and have the nurses go over me :)

Excellent movie. Turn on captions if you have trouble hearing it. Hope they get your good ear sorted out.

Thanks GT and lev:) It only lasted for 3 days last time but scared me enough to go to hospital,my bad ear gets infected nearly every year and that can be a real pain to clear up sometime the infection can last for two months while varying treatments as the infection and my body become tolerent of the medication:)

Thank heavens it is Friday! This week has dragged so much, and I've been so tired! Now I have the luxury of an extended weekend, 3 days off, and I'm going to make the most of them! :D Sleep long, eat well, play games and have fun! ;)

Seeing as it started off with a funeral ...can only go up (someone rap on my head for luck, so I hopefully didn't just jinx it!)

Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend, folks! :)

Sorry to hear about the ear infection, Rikky. I'm half deaf in one ear as well, so I know what you mean when the good ear packs it in as well! :(

@ Bluesy:- Back at ya, punk! ;) Hope the wife and kiddies are doing well.:)

Hehehe I wonder why we always fantiasize about nurses and firemen! I once went to a training course for fire fighting at a training camp for firemen, and all my girlfriends were green with envy! http://members.chello.se/solange/smileys/jump.gif

Rap rap. All better now? Sorry about the funeral; hope it wasn't somebody near & dear to you.

No 3 day weekend here. We rotate working Saturdays, and it's my turn in the office all day. (shrug) Holiday pay is nice, & still get two days to crash.

    Ouch ....not so hard!!:) :)

    Unfortunately, it was.
Was handling it fairly well until they played "I Believe".

But, it's Saturday and I can walk fairly well, so will start on those projects for the kids new apartment ....

Hey, G.T. ....did you catch the news item about the new method/approach they are finding for combating cancer? The alteration of immune cells so that they DO recognize the cancers and start to shrink/destroy them?

    Think about you often ....

Sorrier still that it WAS someone close. Those are painful, no matter how many of them we've participated in. But sounds like you've got the "Carry On" part worked out. Hope today goes as well as it can.

Haven't heard anything current, although I'm aware that they're pursuing that, which would be much nicer than getting pumped full of poisons to fight it. LOL. Last I heard it may be a while before that is useful and useable, but it would be the ideal way to deal with cancer.

Might you mention it to your Doctor so he can see if there are any trials going on that you could particpate in?

Yes, I might. :D He stays really current with what's out there, and what might help me. For now, what I'm on is the best of what's available.

Trials I generally take with a grain of salt. Those are as yet unproven, and most trial groups split 50/50, with half the group (the "control group") getting a placebo instead of the drug under trial, which is a bit more of a crap shoot than I want to try at this stage. But we're always on the lookout, and at some point I may get desperate enough to roll the dice.

I think this is the trial you were talking about. Promising stuff, although not targeted at what I have, but nowhere near ready for prime time. Was good news for two patients, but the other 15 died. Trials are generally the last hope when all other hope is gone. I'm still maintaining well, so am not ready for last grasps quite yet. ;)

That's the one ....although not in the print version ...I seem to recall them mentioning that they are trying to adapt for other cancers and the research is advancing rapidly ....

Keep the positive attitude and doing what works ....and the rest of us will keep looking for answers and keep you in our prayers.:)
