I'm happy that my one daughter's school actually had them in school learning about it and doing things in memory of him, rather than declaring it as just a day off which drives me nuts.

I concur Laura. Not about the daughter, I don't have kids.:-D However you celebrate the day, I believe it is a day to think about what was, what is, and what will be. The future is going to happen, hopefully we can work to make it better.

Agreed Fred and an appropriate sentiment for the day.

I do wish we'd teach our kids more about these days (all of them..memorial day, president's day, etc) that they consider as just a day off from school.
