Happy New Year 2023

Happy New Year MGs and I am in agreement with David.......I hope 2023 is much better for everyone

Yep we have arrived and several champagnes later.......it is now 3:11am over here

 

We are spending a quiet night at home with a glass of bubbly and hopefully still be awake at midnight.
Tomorrow we will go out for our good luck meal of pork, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. I have a PA-Dutch background so you have to eat this on New Year's Day. (It didn't seem to work in 2020, 2021 and 2022! I cooked it at home those years.)

 

Hehehe wasn't a big party lol.....just me and my wife sitting out on the deck with some nibbles and a couple of bottles of bubbly. It was bit quiet this year because my son and his fiance are in Brazil visiting her parents and my daughter came down with covid the day before Christmas and is isolating although she is pretty much over it......... if she tests negative to the RAT test (rapid antigen test) then we will see her in a day or two but me with no immune system due to my SLE can't take the risk if she is still positive. My sister and her partner decided they wanted to stay home and sit around their pool as it was a warm night so all in all we had a quiet night.

Jeez Laura bad luck you are starting the new year with a cold.......I hope this isn't a sign foretelling how 2023 is going to go for you
Dinner with your hubby sounds like a good deal and a couple of glasses of wine with dinner is an excellent way to celebrate. Did you have something yummy for dinner?

LauraR, I don't make chicken corn soup but I'll eat it with rivels or pot pie noodles. I get chicken corn soup at Wawa. I can't remember if it has noodles in it.
