A little over two weeks ago I had to do a system restore which set my computer back to factory settings. When I finally deleted all the programs I did not need and reinstalled the programs I did need i checked the capacity of my hard drive and said it was about 70% full. Before I did the system restore my hard drive was only half full. My question is, is there a something I can run to see what is taking up so much space. I will be heading back up to school soon and will need all the space I can get. Thanks

A couple of ideas while you are waiting for better answers.

    (1) Are you using Norton SystemWorks, (or similar), where deleted files are removed from view but not physically deleted until you exercise the option to remove them from the Norton protected Recycle Bin.

    (2) System Restore may have saved a lot of your old stuff , and settings, without telling you, in case the Restore did not work properly, and so you could go back to the previous install.

Anyone please step in and tell jughandle where the "old saved stuff" may be, and how it can be deleted if the current install is satisfactory. Bazza

PS: What OS are you using? XP Home, XP Pro, ME, or what? Baz
