Hard drive much smaller than it's supposed to be

I have a HD which is supposed to be 120 GiB. In Fdisk and Partition Magic it shows as 32. I have enabled large disk support in Fdisk.

Is the disk damaged?

 

I'm having the same problem. I have a 200 gig that was fine, but after I reformated, XP says it is 127 gigs. Anything I can do to fix this?

 

Letharion, when the computer is searching your IDE channels in the BIOS, what model number does it come up with?

install Service Pack 1a for Windows XP, this adds support for hdd's larger than 120GB.

 

are you using Norton? If so make sure the "protected" recycle bin isn't saving all the files you delete. Happened to me before. You have to go into Norton and purge all the files. It saves everything you delete.

 

I fixed my problem with MaxBlaster from the Maxtor website. Just made a bootable floppy disk, formatted with MaxBlaster, then installed XP. Worked like a charm. Thanks for the help guys.

 

I just found myself in same situation. Bought a new computer that came with XP home and the first thing I did was use my 6 floppy boot disks to try and partition and install XP pro. Ever since my 160 gig hd shows up as a 131 gig.
Any suggestions?
