When I go to reformat my computer i get to windows setup and when i press enter it says that there is no hard drive installed, but yet i can access windows xp. When i first start up the computer on windows it pops up this error which says Error Loading c:/WINDOWS/system32/gzmrt.dll

The computer is also slow now, none of this happened until i accidentally pushed the power button off on my power strip under the desk, at first it gave me the blue screen of death then i fixed that somehow.

    Someone please repond.
    Thanks

Would this by any chance be a sata hard drive? If so you'll probably need to load the sata driver at the setup screen with the F6 prompt for loading third party drivers. That would be my first suspicion.....

Well we never had to before, how to we know if it's a SATA hard drive or not?

This is a dell dimension 8400 with factory hard drive if that helps

Interesting, How old is this dell? If you'll give me the service tag number from the back of the machine I can take a peek on dell.com and see the specs of that individual machine.
