I've had an IBM desktop for a little over 10 years now and it has been running fine. Recently the hard drive decided to stop working so I replaced it a used hard drive. A few weeks later that one broke also. I figured that they both broke because they were old so I put in a new hard drive. Just a few days ago that one also broke. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Just a guess, but maybe heat (from failing fan, dust...) or maybe the power supply. That rig is ancient in P.C. years, don't rule out anything.

i could understand the heat, but what could the power supply do? because if its damaging one hard drive why doesn't it damage other pieces of hardware?
