I have an older Compaq Deskpro that had a 9 gig hard drive. I installed a 40 gig hard drive and reinstalled all my programs. When I go to "my computer"
and click on "c drive" it says. Total size 28.8 gigs with 22 remaining. What happened to the other 12 gigs? Thanks,Tommy

Did your PC ever see it as a 40 Gig? Your BIOS may only support HDDs to 30 Gigs. An upgrade may be available. I suggest surfing the makers website to see what you can find.

Thanks for the info. I just installed it and it came up as 28.8gig. I didn't know
about that bios thing you told me. Compared to the 9 that was in there, this is great. My kid is still in middle school, so this will work fine the way it is. I was just very curious about this. Thanks,Tommy
