Well I have 2 hard drives on my pc, my C drive has my OS and my D drive has the Recovery Partition. Since my pc dididnt come with a XP cd, if I buy the Xp cd can I just wipe my D drive and use it for other storage?

Sure ....if you ever get into trouble and have to do a repair install ....it will read the new cd and want you to activate ....Or:
    Change your CD Key

    1. Go to Activate Windows
    2. Select the Telephone option
    3. Click "Change Product Key"
    4. Enter xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx ( your 25 character product key)
    5. Click "Update"

There are also ways to save the previous activation so that you can reset them after a repair/reinstall ....can't remember at the moment (brain is still forming) ...but either google it or I'll get back to ya!!:) :)
P.S. Thanks for the comment in the newcomers section ....very sweet!!:) :)

Don't forget, you will need access to your drivers. Either from the recovery disc or downloaded.
