Hard drive question

    I have a Dell Inspiron 5000 laptop
    win xp pro
    9 gb hard drive
    128 mbs of memory
    pent. 3
    Toshiba dvd-rom sd-c2402
    ATI RAGE MOBILITY-P video card

    I am wanting to swicth hard drives out or can I run a slave hard drive on a laptop. The hard drive I want to put in it is a Toshiba 80 gb
    s/n 55376646T 6y8 ec.a As always thanks in advance. Bobby

    Suppose it would depend on whether there was another slot for a 2nd hard drive. Don't know jack about laptops. :D

    there isn't any room for another drive in there...1 at a time, but you can get an external usb drive, that would work fine. is that spare drive 2.5" or 3.5" ? youre better off buying an external drive enclosure for the drive that you have.
