    Hi guys

Bit of a noob question. Transferred the gubbins of my PC into a sexy new Silverstone HTPC case thats now sitting nicely with the rest of my cineam gear.

Ive got 3 HDDs in there and noticed it was blowing a lot of hot air out the fans at the back. Installed SiSoft, speedfan and HDD temperature - HDD temp was showing my HDDs were running too hot and alerts were popping up.

So just installed 2 fans on the front by the HDD's to cool. My temps are now showing 32,26, 37. Now Im getting alerts that the HDD running at 26 is too cool.

Any input - will this be safe to carry on or should I disconnect one of the extra fans.

    Thanks

    JP

Thanks for the reply, I know cooler is better for most things but reading on HDD temps a lot of info I could find was saying should be between 30 and 35.

    Cheers

You are correct that cooler is not always better.
Hard drives are designed to operate within a certain temperature range.
    Too cool isn't good
    Too hot isn't good.
I would keep my HD's warm enough to make the "too cool" message go away.
