hard drive upgrade

So, my HD is a 30GB 5400 Rpms, IDE Hard drive, I'm wanting to upgrade to at least 80GB 7200 rpms, I found this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200418122144&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

BUT... i don't know if it'll work with my system, I always though that because my pc takes IDE HD's; any IDE HD would work.

kinda in a hury for an answer because the sale ends soon and that's the cheapest 7200 rpm HD i can find, and i really don't wanna spend 50 dollars for a new hd..

my computer is an HP pavilion 504n.

 

Don't believe you would have to worry.Will work.
Biggest problem is being the winning bidder.
Would also be a great performance boost.
If you don't win it, may have one lying around you could get.

 

Yes, any IDE HD will work in systems that support IDE. The only problem, especially in a manufacturer's case, is getting it to mount to the frame where the old one does. Sometimes manufacturers like to trim an HD down and slide it into a smaller area than a standard drive could be. This is usually due to the much inferior case sizes that they build, rather than using a standard ATX or Full Tower ATX case. In any case, to answer your question, yes, it will work. Will it fit? That's a different question.

It was a buy it now, i got it and it's on it's way. Got a new cpu as well.
