Hi guys, I just did a new system build

    Motherboard - AsRock Z68Pro-3
    RAM - 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 1333MHz
    CPU - Intel I5-2500K
    GPU - Gigabyte HD6850 OC 1GB
    PSU - Gigabyte Odin 720W
    Storage - OCZ Vertex II 60GB SSD, Hitachi 1TB 7200 SATA2 (from last PC, Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB 5900 SATA3, WD 7200 160GB SATA2 (old one that I just couldn't let go)

    OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

OK so built the girl up and hit power then went straight into BIOS (it's BIOS but it's now called UEFI??? or something similar to that) and enabled the motherboards Turbo 50 setting for a mild auto OC and also changed the HDD cConfig Settings to ADHI Mode from IDE Mode after a recomendation from a friend. Then installed the OS onto the SSD (works brilliantly) and then problems started.

During the Windows set up process all my hard drives were available to install the OS onto. In the BIOS Storage Configuration Screen all drives appear. On the Boot Order Configuration Screen only the SSD and the 160GB hard drives appear. In windows itself in the "Computer" window only the SSD and the 160GB drives appear.

I tried changing the storage configuration settings in the BIOS back to IDE Mode and on another occassion to RAID mode but both of these settings caused the computer to BSOD before the "Starting Windows" animation was finsihed.

Now obviously I want access to the remaining 3TB of space I have there but since Windows isn't detecting them I feel stuck in the mud here. Also note that both the 1TB and 2TB drives have never been used (I bought the 1TB drive for my old system to replace the 160GB and a 320GB IDE drives but before I got around to installing it the PSU began it's march down the lonely road so I decided to wait until I built my new system to use it)

So any help would be greatly appreciated - Thanks

It's OK I finally came across the answer after a few more minutes of googling. Sorry about that but in case anybody else comes across this issue I will explain how the problem was solved:

1 - Click start and in the search bar type in diskmgmt.msc

2 - In this Disk Management Window it will appear split in half separating the top and bottom of the window. In the top half will be Volume Information - a list of Drives that Windows has available for use. In the bottom half will be a list of Drives that Windows has detected.

3 - Scroll down here until you find the appropriate Drive. Right click on the Drive and selct New Simple Volume and then follow the prompts to begin formatting the Drive

4 - The drive is now ready for use and will appear in the system

    Thanks
