Hard Drives

Do anyone know what I can do about repairing my primary hard drive 0 it says its not found... One more favor how can I create a bootable disk for a dell latitude laptop it runs on Windows XP. Thanks a lot for your help!!!

 

OK so no one else wants to tell you the bad news.

Hard Drive not Found error message occurs when the hard drive has failed.
You could try taking it out and reconnecting it.

You didn't say if the hard drive was in the Dell laptop or if this is a separate issue?

You will need to get an 'operating system recovery CD' and a 'driver recovery Cd' from Dell if you don't have one and can't borrow one. Any Similar Dell laptop one will do so long as you have the Windows sticker on the bottom.

 

I have a dell operating system cd and drivers and utilities cd... I was wondering is there a cd for reinstalling bootable devices for a dell latitude C610... When I put my cds in it won't boot...

 

You're in luck then as they are the ones you need.

You still didn't say if the dead? hard drive is from the laptop.

If the latop won't boot from the recovery cd marked operating system then reboot and tap the del key to enter the bios. (setup)
Make sure that the pc is set to boot from cd first in the list.
Save the changes and exit bios.
With the OS CD in the drive reboot and watch the screen for the prompt which reads
'press any key to boot from cd'
and hit the space bar.

This will boot to Windows setup.

Of course you have to have a working hard drive to reinstall windows to.

 

Thanx i will let you know if it works or not... If by any chance do you need any help with your computer I am really good with laptops in particularly dell but any laptop will do
