Hardcano: how do I bypass CPU fan control?

I'm just wiring up the Harcano that comes with Thermaltake's Damier case (V5000A) and can't seem to bypass the CPU fan control. I want the BIOS to do that for me.

The CPU fan is plugged into the motherboard (Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI). The only connections from the case (none from the Hardcano) to the motherboard are the power switch/reset/power LED/HDD LED and speaker yet the big dial near the top of the case will control the CPU fan - this dosn't seem possible to me but I've not built a PC for a few years and never with a fan control.

I've not gone into the BIOS yet but it seems (from the manual) that the "CPU Smart Fan Control" is enabled by defalt so the fan should not even come on below 50C.

Here is the installation guide for the Hardcano:

Please help a very confused person!

    ey Blue,

let me get this right: your case has fan speed monitoring and control for the CPU fan. It provides 2 "bypass" connectors for the MB and CPU.

The problem is that the MB also monitors and controls the CPU fan, so you can't have 2 devices doing the same thing.

So you want to disable the motherboard CPU control, and leave everything to your case to handle.

I think all you need to do is disable the smart fan control in your BIOS and link up the cables as described in the installation guide, and you're ready to go.

The cpu fan voltage is different from other fans, but i'm not sure how you can link this up without going through the motherboard voltage regulators.

I have a cpu fan controller myself (as a drive-bay panel) but didn't bypass the cpu fan cables, as i want it to be automatically controlled by the motherboard. I have a software program that monitors my temps and fan speeds, and i'm happy with that.

hope this was a bit helpful,

If I understand your post correctly you want the bios to control cpu fan speed if so just turn the control to max and it will be as though the control isn't there. :)

Just read your post again, the cpu fan is plugged into the mobo,if the fan is in no way connected to the case, you only have the power and reset buttons plugged into the front, then the case can't control the fan speed, its spinning because the mobo can only regulate the voltage between about 5-12 volts,so there is always power going to it.
