Harddrive acting wierd

    I just recently went and bought a new harddrive for my computer is was a maxtor 200gig hd, using NTFS on it. Now my problem is that it stands that 61gig of 189 gigs space is taken althought I dont have a smack on it. I have no idea whatsoever to solve this. I was wondering if someone have had simulair problems and might help me out with this.

    do you mean after you format 61g is not showing and it is showing only 189g a your h/drive. if so go to admin. tools/ computer manag./disk manag and see what it says there
