hardisk transfer mode problems.

why my ide hardisk transfer mode keep reseting to a lower transfer mode which is ultra dma4 66 every time when i set it to ultra dma5 100.i'am using gigabyte 8knf-9 mainboard.does it really affect the performance??below is the speed test.is it hardware or software problems?

are you sure it's set correctly in the BIOS?

i can't find any settings to change it in bios.btw i choose load optimized defaults in bios.

Do a bandwidth test on sandra and see if you can find some data to compare it to.

i reset it again and it's working fine SO FAR.hope there's no problem.thanks for the replys.if i need help again i will update this thread.
