Hardrive Help

    ok i just recived a 200gb hardrive from my work and i already havea 20gb harddrive with everything on it. I.E. OS music games. now wat i want to do is have the 200 gb have my games on it since i had to remove some of my games to play others.. now i put my hard drive in the computer plugged it in and everything but when i goto my computer its not there. was i suppose to go into the bios and change something????

    the drive is probably new and not formatted. Right click on My Computer, and choose "Manage". On the left side, click on Disk Management. It will load for a couple seconds, and you should see all the hard drives and their partitions on the right. the new drive should say unformatted. Right click it, partition it, and format it. (NTFS for Windows XP)

    if the drive does not show up in Disk Management, you likely have the Jumpers set incorrectly. the Primary drive should be set to Master with Slave present, and the new drive should be a Slave drive (assuming both are on the same IDE cable). Be sure the Master is on the end of the cable, and the slave in the middle.
