Hardrive installion problem

    i have just installed a new hard drive very simple no problems but when started up my pc it detcted the new hard drive then i went onto my computer but it was not there so i looked on device manager and the hardware wizard and it comes up sayin that is workin fine im a bit confused this has never happend before.

    Has this ever happend to anyone else and if it has how did ya fix it?

    If it's new it will need a partition creating on it.

    The following is for XP, although I guess Vista is similar . .

    Control Panel
    Administrative Tools
    Computer Management
    Disk Management

    You should see the new drive there. Create a partition on it, select the formatting option and when it's done, it should show up in My Computer.
