    Hi everyone,

    Background
Recently, I got a low-cost Chromebook. It comes with a pre-installed Windows 10 Home 64bit version OS. The problem is that doing anything with this notebook is incredibly slow (I understand that what you pay is what you get). Starting up Firefox will always result in the browser hanging. Also, the system will prompt low memory 80% of the time even though only Firefox is opened. Whenever I right-clicked a file or application, my screen will black out for a few nanoseconds and then the screen will be refreshed. What this means is this I can never be able to right click any program or files on my desktop again.

    Hardware specification
I have listed out the specifications and let me know if I missed out anything:

    Model: Asus Vivobook E200HA
Processor: Intel Atom Z8300 @ 1.44-1.84GHz (quad-core Cherry Trail processor)
    Ram: 2GB DDR3 Ram
HDD Storage: 32GB eMMC flash memory storage
USB Ports: two usb ports (3.0 and 2.0)

    Proposed solution
So, I figured that I will downgrade it to windows xp 32bit version instead. However, I don't want to end up with a non-usable Chromebook or end up with even more problems after installing Windows xp 32bit version. Therefore, I need your help to determine whether Windows xp sp3 32 bit version is compatible with this particular notebook.

I have googled around for solutions and I came across users who installed various variations of Linux but they encountered sound problem and other hardware issues after installation. Those problems remain unsolved except for buying external sound card. However, I didn't see anyone trying to install Windows XP on this machine.

Lastly, I am opened to other suggestions that don't require me to buy a new laptop (due to budget constraint).

    Thank you for your help.

It is highly unlikely there are any XP drivers for this laptop.

Is it a RAM warning or storage? I had an ASUS Vivotab Smart which has a slower, older CPU and the same 2GB DDR3 RAM and upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10. It wasn't particularly fast but it was acceptable considering the specs. I could run several tabs of Palemoon (a Firefox derivative) and never got a low memory warning and none of the issues right clicking files you describe. The only difference is it had a 64GB SSD and I plugged in a 64GB microSD card and moved my user folders to it to free up space on the SSD.

Using another microusb card for folders did help when I played about with tablets, but they had android systems.

    HI

Not used to Chromebooks myself but as they use online cloud a lot then what's your internet speeds?
Also even if you just have Firefox open, how many tabs open, how many extensions are installed as they will all slow the browser down, try using Firefox safe mode and click Help > Restart with Add-ons disabled and see how it runs in relation to browsing.

As Chromebooks us GoogleDrive for extra storage, in offline mode it uses RAM hence why you maybe seeing low RAM, so try this and go to drive.google.com click the top right hand gear icon > and de-select "Sync Google Docs, Sheets, Slides & Drawings files to this computer so that you can edit offline" only thing here is you do not have access to edit any does when you are offline now, but may speed things up.
