Hardware Idiot!

Okay hardware gurus, here goes.

I am looking to buy new memory for my computer. I really don't know what the best / easiest way is to find out what is compatable with my mobo or even what mobo I currently have.http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/redface.gif Is there a program here at MG that is the best way or..........?

You can download AIDA32 (or something simlar) here for info on your MOBO.

Or your can visit Crucial or Corsar Memory Sites and let their "Memory Configurator", it will go into your system and see what you have and show you what they recommend to match it. Its a good way to remove doubt as to what will work.

Use CPUZ. http://www.cpuid.org/download/cpu-z-130.zip

This will give you all the info about your motherboard. The ram you are currently using etc.

If you want to see exactly what ram you have in the pc at the moment click on the SPD tab and accross from maxbandwidth you will see the type of ram.

Not to change the subject, but where did you get your handle JerkyKing? I think I understand BrokenArrows, but not JerkyKing. Not that it matters. Just curious.
