I have a USB/wireless router (free from ISP) at the moment. When i venture out to buy my new Desktop, what do I need to have installed in it to make it wireless? At the moment I have cables going under carpets and round doors!!

    Thanks

First thing to do is check ISP info on what they recommend for a wireless adapter to match their router. You should match the b/g/n standard for what the router supports so as to cause less hassles.
If no info on that, then figure most any adapter will work but my preference is to stay away from USB dongles and go with an on-board or add-on card. (Some desktops have wi-fi built in, depends on the mobo.)
    Hope this helps.

This is exactly what I have been looking for :) When I go to the PC store, I shall make sure that the new Desktop has Wi-fi built in :hyper

    You certainly did help.
