    Hi guys.
i have recently been given the task of fixing a net book that apparently was dropped, after turning on it tells me that C:\windows\system32\ utility's is missing so i started a full windows xp format(which was the original OS). after booting from disk it comes up with no drive path or drive to partition. so am i right in thinking that the hard drive is dead and it needs a new one. thanks

The fall could have loosened the drive; it might still be okay.
Take the drive out and reseat it. See what happens.
Again the hard drive might be SATA. Since XP does not include SATA drivers, you'd get a message about not being able to see the hard drive. When installing XP, the SATA drivers must be loaded before the OS or slipstreamed into the XP OS.
